Abstract

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for cleaning using a gas-vapor mixture. A heated, pressurized stream of propellant gas is supplied to the outer tube (36) of a coaxial delivery line (132). The coaxial delivery line (132) is formed of an outer tube (36) and an inner tube (94) operably connected to a divergent-convergent mixing nozzle (96). A stream of a pre-heated gas is mixed with deionized water to form a gas-liquid mixture, which is heated to form a gas-vapor mixture. The gas-vapor mixture is then fed to the inner tube (94) of the coaxial delivery line (132). The gas-vapor mixture spray exiting the mixing nozzle (96) is then directed at an article to be cleaned.
