Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de lecture à distance de l'afficheur d'une boîte de compteur, en particulier d'électricité, d'eau ou de gaz. Un tel afficheur comporte une rangée de chiffres destinée à être relevée manuellement par un opérateur. Le dispositif comporte a) un équipement local sous la forme d'une unité (4) conçue pour la lecture optique raccordée à une boîte de compteur (1) existante. L'unité (4), de préférence commandée à distance, est disposée de manière à lire momentanément les chiffres sur un afficheur (2) de ladite boîte de compteur (1) et, grâce à une unité de commande (5) et à une unité de communications (6), à transmettre des signaux représentant la lecture effectuée, sur un réseau de communications vers une unité centrale comprenant b) un équipement, soit une unité de communications (7), une unité de commande et une mémoire (9).
