- the invention relates to an orbital vortex shaker with a shaker platform and several drive units with eccentrics.
- Synchronization is not necessary for vortex shakers with one drive axis, but they are usually only built for one sample. If they have a shaker platform for simultaneous shaking of several samples, the same orbital vortex movement does not take place everywhere. To achieve this, additional mechanical devices such as bearings, guide rails and springs are necessary.
- the object of the invention is to achieve simple synchronization in a shaker with several drive axes.
- the drive units are independent of one another and the shaker platform has a synchronizing plate which is provided with receiving bores for the eccentrics of the drive units in such a way that the attached synchronizing plate brings all the eccentrics into the same angular position and thus forces the synchronization of the drive units.

- the four motors 6 are preferably identical. As shown in FIG. 2, they are provided with an axial ball bearing 7, an eccentrically mounted radial ball bearing 8 and an upwardly tapering cap 9 with an O-ring 10 for the drive connection with the synchronizing plate 3.
- the orbital deflection is defined by the eccentrically drilled bearing core 6 of the radial ball bearing.
- the bores 4 of the synchronizing plate 3 have a diameter which corresponds to the outer diameter of the O-rings 10. For operation, a synchronizing plate 3 is placed on the cap without additional mechanical locking.
- the conical shape of the cap 9 favors the attachment of the synchronizer plate without the eccentric bearing cap 9 of the individual drive units be aligned beforehand.
- the O-rings 10 ensure quiet and gentle operation.
- Any sample racks can be mounted on or under the synchronizing plate 3.
- the synchronizing plate can be provided with devices for heating or cooling the samples.
- the synchronizing plate 3 itself can simultaneously be designed as a sample rack.
- Electronic position detection enables a defined stop position, which is necessary for use in robotics.
