Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil permettant de surveiller l'élan et la trajectoire d'une balle de golf, comprenant des premier et second réseaux de photocapteurs espacés, de préférence, linéaires. Ces capteurs détectent chacun la présence ou l'absence de tête de club de golf au-dessus d'eux. Un ordinateur exécutant un programme de logiciel est configuré pour calculer la trajectoire de l'élan, et la vitesse et l'angle de la tête du club lors de l'impact avec une balle, sur la base des signaux lumineux surveillés des capteurs. Des images multiples successives dans le temps représentant la balle après l'impact sont saisies pour être comparées avec, de préférence, un processeur d'ordinateur. En outre, la balle de golf présente autour de sa surface une bande qui apparaît dans chacune des images, malgré la rotation de la balle. Les extrapolations linéaires et circonférentielles sont calculées par l'ordinateur, la vitesse de rétro initial et de l'effet latéral ainsi que la vitesse tridimensionnelles de la balle de golf étant ensuite calculées sur la base des images de la balle et de la bande, en prenant en considération les diamètres des images, la courbure, la position de la bande, et les extrapolations. Les capteurs sont utilisés pour déclencher le coffrage de la caméra et des lampes-éclair utilisés pour saisir les images. Par ailleurs, on peut également saisir une image d'impact et observer et évaluer la position de la tête du club par rapport à la balle lors de l'impact. Enfin, on peut déterminer le rendement du transfert énergétique de l'impact entre la tête du club et la balle.
