Description

Title: Compositions for cosmetic or dermopharmaceutical use containing a combination of seaweed extract and arid exopolysacch.
Research in the cosmetic and dermopharmaceutical industry strives to find the remedies necessary for the ailments to which the skin is exposed daily: solar irradiation, chemical pollution, stress, genetic aging, dehydration ...
An ever-increasing number of products are trying to meet the more or less specific needs of consumers. The hydration of the epidermis and the nutritive supply of vitamins and micronutrients are areas particularly studied by cosmetic research.
However, there is still a wide field to discover new beneficial solutions to nourish and hydrate the skin.
The object of the present invention is the discovery that the extract of a microalga called Haematococcus pluvialis has beneficial activities for the skin, and that the association with a polysaccharide of microbial origin is particularly effective in moisturizing cosmetic products and nutritious.
The microalga Haematococcus pluvialis only grows in very specific regions of the globe, in particular in fresh, pure, unpolluted, very sunny waters. Rich in trace elements and vitamins, proteins and carbohydrates, it has energizing, regenerative and stimulating properties through oral absorption. We have discovered that extracts from this alga also have beneficial effects topically.
The problem with many active substances or components used in cosmetics nevertheless lies in the fact that absorption through the epidermis can be either too rapid or too weak. Many products acting either as a penetration aid, or as slowing down the “flash” effect of too rapid penetration, have been discovered and offered.
The patent FR 2688222 describes the obtaining of an oligo- or polysaccharide of glucuronic composition from the microorganism Rhizobium meliloti and the use of the gelling properties of these molecules in different fields, including that of cosmetics.
Quelques exemples non limitatifs vont illustrer l'invention. The formation of these gels nevertheless requires the presence of mono- or divalent cations, and the gels thus obtained are not well suited to galenical cosmetic requirements: they are rather compact, heat-sensitive and brittle. The discovery object of the present invention is the fact that the cosmetic use of extracts of Haematococcus pluvialis improves the surface state of the skin and that the use of oligo- and polymers of glucuronic acid at a sufficiently low concentration which avoids gelation, makes it possible to form a film of only a few molecular layers on the skin: by associating the extract of microalgae άΗaematococcus pluvialis with glucuronic polysaccharides within a cosmetic composition, better hydration and cell regeneration results are obtained. skin with extract of Haematococcus pluvialis alone. Some nonlimiting examples will illustrate the invention.
After elimination of the microorganisms by tangential filtration, the filtrate is preserved by suitable antimicrobial substances.
In addition, an extract of Haematococcus pluvialis is prepared by macerating the lyophilized or atomized microalgae in an aqueous or hydroglycolic excipient, followed by filtration, clarification, discoloration, possibly preservation.
The advantage of the extracts of this microalga lies in a favorable ratio of biological activity on dry matter (and associated color), which is often problematic in cosmetic phytotherapy. The extracts are stable, odorless and easily used in all types of cosmetic products.
The extraction solvents for the preparation of the extracts which are the subject of this patent can be chosen from water, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, glycerin, polyethylene glycol, methyl or ethyl ethers of digiycols, cyclic polyols, ethoxylated or propoxylated diglycols or any mixture of these solvents.
The extracts can be obtained by maceration of the plant in the extraction solvent, for a more or less long period. Instead of simple maceration, countercurrent techniques can be used, decoction, leaching, extraction using ultrasound, microwaves. For certain cosmetic applications it may prove useful to prepare a dry extract from the liquid extract. This can be achieved by conventional precipitation, drying, evaporation, atomization or lyophilization techniques.
The final composition intended for use in a cosmetic or dermopharmaceutical product consists of a mixture of the filtrate containing the polysaccharide and the algae extract, in a proportion of approximately 10: 1.
This example is not limitative; the mixing proportions of the bacterial filtrate with the Haematococcus pluvialis extract can vary from 1: 1 to 1000: 1, the culture conditions of Rhizobium meliloti can vary within reasonable limits and compatible with the metabolism of Rhizobium meliloti (pH 4 -8, temperature 20-40 ° C, sugar composition: glucose, fructose, sucrose, synthetic culture medium or one containing peptones, vitamin additives, etc.). Example No. 2: Cosmetic Effectiveness A cosmetic gel was formulated containing 3% of the mixture of polysaccharide and extract of Haematococcus pluvialis. This gel was applied daily by a panel of 10 volunteers with dry and rough skin on the leg. On the other leg, a placebo gel was applied. A hydration study with the Cornéometer (measurement of the surface impedance) was carried out in parallel with a study of the corneocyte layers by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
After 3 weeks of application, the surface of the skin treated with the poiysaccharide / algae extract mixture is clearly more hydrated and less rough than the skin treated with placebo: the hydration values read by the corneometer increased by + 15%, SEM images show smoothing and better cell adhesion.
Exemple n° 3: crème hydratante et nutritive BrijR 721 2.4 BrijR 72 2.6 ArlamolR E 8.0A second study was carried out to compare the effect of the polysaccharide alone and the extract of Haematococcus pluvialis alone. While no significant improvement could be seen at the concentrations of identical use, the extract of Haematococcus pluvialis alone improves the condition of the skin when used at a concentration 5-10 times higher. Its price and its color as well as the odor however limit the interest of this solution. Example No. 3: Brij R 721 moisturizing and nutritive cream 2.4 Brij R 72 2.6 Arlamol R E 8.0
