Definitions

  • This invention relates in general to selective call devices, and more particularly to disabling alerts of a selective call receiver when a cellular telephone combined thereto is active.
  • One attempt to solve this problem was to combine a cellular telephone with a selective call receiver.

  • the cellular telephone and the selective call receiver have separate receiving circuits so both devices may operate, i.e., receive messages or communicate, independent of each other or even simultaneously.
  • the selective call receiver is able to receive a selective call signal because it has a separate receiving circuit from the cellular telephone.
  • the selective call receiver Upon receipt of the selective call message, the selective call receiver notifies the user by generating an alert. Abstract
