Abstract

Selon un procédé de refente d'une bande de papier en sens travers, la bande de papier est déplacée d'une longueur prédéterminée dans son sens longitudinal, par rapport à un outil de coupe stationnaire, entre deux étapes de coupe successifs, et est arrêtée pendant l'étape de coupe. Selon l'invention, la bande de papier est acheminée en continu à vitesse constante jusqu'à proximité de l'outil de coupe. Seule la zone de la bande de papier jouxtant immédiatement l'outil de coupe et se trouvant devant ledit outil est maintenue pendant la durée de l'étape de coupe. A cet effet, pendant l'étape de coupe, la section de la bande de papier acheminée à la suite sous forme de boucle (vague) bombée vers l'extérieur transversalement par rapport au sens de défilement théoriquement droit est stockée. Après achèvement de l'étape de coupe, la section stockée est transportée jusqu'à l'outil de coupe à une plus grande vitesse comparativement à la vitesse d'acheminement contante.
