Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure cap for cans with a circumferential can edge.
  • Such cans are used, for example, as beverage cans, preserve cans, spray cans or the like.
  • a sealing cover for beverage cans is known from US Pat. No. 4,917,258.
  • This cover has a substantially flattened surface and a circumferential collar on its peripheral edge, which forms a groove open at the bottom.
  • the groove engages around the elastic edge of the can, and the circumferential Kra ⁇ gene of the lid snaps' a. This creates a releasable connection between the lid and the can.
  • the can lid presented in US Pat. No. 4,917,258 is suitable for closing, in particular, opened beverage cans. It reduces the leakage of Gases from the drink and protects it against contamination from outside.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a closure for cans with a circumferential can rim, such as beverage cans or the like, which securely and releasably closes such cans and at the same time for further functions, such as, for example, as safe and detachable closable drinking cup or as an advertising medium, can be used.

  • This special shape of the closure cap means that a can can be securely closed with the can lid at any time and repeatedly. This not only prevents the drinks from accidentally escaping from the can, but also keeps the drinks fresh longer due to the reduced release of gases dissolved in them. In particular, contamination of the drinks in open beverage cans by foreign bodies or insects which penetrate from the outside is also prevented.
  • the container connected to the can lid can be detached from the can lid and are then used, for example, as drinking cups. In the latter case, it is possible to provide a predetermined breaking point on the tongue engaging in the groove, so that the tongue breaks off from the container when the can lid is first separated. Abstract
