L'invention concerne un tricot fin pouvant être éliminé de façon écologique, destiné à la fabrication d'articles d'habillement, en particulier de bas et de collants fins, composé de fils texturés d'un matériau hydrosoluble présentant les propriétés suivantes: stabilité dimensionnelle à des températures inférieures à 95 °C; insolubilité à des températures inférieures à 45 °C, de préférence inférieures à 95 °C, dans des solutions aqueuses légèrement basiques ou acides présentant un pH compris entre 6 et 8, en particulier entre 4 et 10; solubilité totale dans l'eau, par exemple à des températures supérieures à 95 °C, de préférence supérieures à 110 °C, en particulier entre 110 et 150 °C; aptitude à la texturation à des températures supérieures à 95 °C, de préférence supérieures à 110 °C, en particulier entre 110 et 150 °C. Le matériau dissous dans l'eau, par exemple un copolyamide ou un alginate, peut être complètement dissous par exemple dans un récipient sous pression, et il est biodégradable ainsi que non dangereux pour les eaux.
