Un véhicule non guidé destiné à la circulation routière comprend deux essieux moteurs (1, 2) pourvus chacun de deux roues motrices (3, 4 ou 5, 6) entraînées par un moteur électrique. Afin de pouvoir simplifier la construction d'un véhicule de ce type tout en préservant les avantages d'un véhicule toutes roues motrices et d'améliorer la sécurité de fonctionnement, un moteur électrique en tandem (9) à deux rotors sert de source d'entraînement et les deux rotors sont reliés chacun par un arbre (7, 8) à l'engrenage différentiel (11, 10) d'un des deux essieux moteurs (1, 2).
