Definitions
- Blister packs for small-sized products today mostly consist of a material combination of plastic film with aluminum, paper or a composite film (paper / AI, AI / plastic or paper / plastic).
- the plastic film is the cover film that has the blister recesses for receiving the filling material.
- the aluminum, the paper or the composite film serves as a push-through or tear-open film for opening the packaging and for removing the products individually.
- Blister packs ensure multiple packaging functions in the distribution, sale and use of goods.
- sales packaging for pharmaceutical products tablettes, capsules, etc.
- the functional elements of the sales packaging and their functions are listed in the following table.
- the example of sales packaging for pharmaceutical products is chosen here since a high quality standard must be guaranteed for these products.
- the actual blister packaging is a functional element of the entire sales packaging.
- Push-through film (AI, filling protection material AI / paper, AI / plastic inert behavior, paper / plastic compared to filling material, paper) sealability defined tear behavior printability
- the invention is based on the object of developing packaging which is simple to recycle, in particular for filling goods from the pharmaceutical sector. All functions mentioned above should be retained. At the same time, a technology similar to conventional packaging machine technology should continue to be used.
- either the blister and the folding box are formed from a single film, or the folding box (Tab. 1, point 5) and possibly other functional elements, such as one
- the product information (Tab. 1 point 4) can be printed on the surfaces of the folding box and / or according to claim 3 alone or additionally printed on a likewise integrally bonded film.
- Blister is according to claim 2 from a film by Folding and welding formed or formed according to claim 3 using welded cover and push-through film.
- Thermoplastic is chosen as the material for the packaging. For reasons of physiological harmlessness, only new plastic goods are used for the packaging of pharmaceutical or food products in the area of product contact.
- secondary processed plastic can also be used for the folding box material according to claim 4.
- the types or types of plastic used are, according to claim 1, those which are in joint remelting recycling are compatible with one another. If secondary-processed plastic is used, it can be made of such material that results from internal punching and scrap waste or from the waste material collection in the internal recycling.
- Plastic types are preferably PVC, PET or PP, since there is a sufficient variety of special types available for these types, such as are necessary for thermoforming, foldability, weldability, printability and physiological harmlessness.
- the packaging is preferably made of thermoplastic film as a semi-finished product.
- This semifinished product is deep-drawn and / or embossed on conventional thermoforming machines.
- Printing can take place before or after the thermoforming process.
- production by injection molding with the formation of appropriate blister recesses and folded edges is possible.
- the preformed parts can be filled on conventional packaging machines with slight modification. Welding and / or sealing as well as folding of thermoplastic films is also possible without problems with conventional packaging machines. Examples:
- FIG. 1 shows the design of a packaging for tablets, chewing gum or the like.
- the intermediate stage 2 is formed from a film 1 in a thermoforming process. In addition to the blister recesses for the contents, this has 3 film hinges 4 as reversible folded edges.
- the tab 5 serves in connection with the edge 6 as an openable closure element for the packaging.
- a plastic film 7 suitable as a push-through film is welded to the cover film 8 after the blister troughs have been filled.
- the packaging is now folded in accordance with illustration 9. In the finished state 10, the packaging is reversibly closed by means of the tab 5 and the edge 6.
- An additional sealing film 11 can be attached to the triangular side surfaces as a sales seal.
- This variant can be made from two (or with sealing film 11 three) types of thermoplastic of the same type of plastic (for example PVC, PET or PP).
- thermoplastic of the same type of plastic for example PVC, PET or PP.
- Such different types of thermoplastic of a type of plastic are well compatible with one another in remelting recycling.
- Printing can be applied to both sides of the film surface 1 and additionally also to the push-through film 7.
- FIG. 2 shows a variant of the same in production and material technology as that shown in FIG. 1. Constructively, instead of the triangular blister, a blister with round depressions is shown.
- the finished sales packaging 10 here has the shape of a cuboid. The reference symbols are identical to those from FIG. 1.
- FIG. 3 shows a blister packaging which is identical in appearance to the variant shown in FIG Deep-drawing of the blister troughs and the introduction of folded edges 14 integrally welded 15 film 16 serves as a push-through film and for printing additional product information.
- secondary processed material can already be used as the material for the folding box 13.
- FIG. 4a), b), and c) show a variant in which a special push-through film is dispensed with.
- the intermediate stage 18 with blister recesses 19 and folded edges 20 is formed from a film 17 by thermoforming. After the blister troughs have been filled, they are closed by a fold 21. In a further manufacturing step, the blister formed in this way is welded, the overlap 22 and the closure tab 23 and eyelet 24 are punched out.
- FIG. 4b shows the handling of the variant shown in FIG. 4a) when folding and closing.
- FIG. 4c) shows options for handling the variant shown in FIG. 4a) when tablets are removed.
- the blister packs according to the invention are easily recyclable or reusable as thermoplastic single-product products. At the same time, all application advantages of previous blister packaging are retained. In addition, other application advantages, such as the coherent unity of product, product information and outer packaging, are created.
- the manufacturing technology can also be significantly simplified. If different materials and functional elements still have to be brought together for today's sales packaging with blister packs, the blister packs according to the invention can be produced in one line and in part from a starting semifinished product. A final merging of blister, product information and conversion no packaging.
- the blister packs according to the invention can be recorded as largely flat parts and can therefore be returned with little volume.
- Recycled waste material can be recycled in the same application (as a folding box material) for the production of the corresponding variants, which favors collection and recycling systems specific to the product group.
- a variety of shapes and functions can be produced as blister packs according to the invention.
- the different appearances required for sales packaging of different products can be constructively achieved as blister packs according to the invention.
- the blister packs according to the invention for small-sized products can therefore be manufactured more cheaply, can be better used, and can be disposed of more cheaply and technically more easily than conventional packagings for similar products using a wide variety of design variants.
