Abstract

The arms (9) of the frame (2) include two members (19) for releasably attaching accessories (13, 14, 15) for holding the spectacles (1) on the user's head. The bridge portion of the frame (2) includes a member (21) for attaching a nose protection accessory (10), and the accessories (40) for attaching a flexible element (18) complement those (30, 32, 34) of said accessories (13-15) for holding the spectacles on the user's head and the members (19) of the frame, the assembly consisting of said members being such that the flexible element (18) may quickly be mounted on and secured to the frame (2) regardless of the presence or absence of the nose protection accessory (10) or the combination of accessories (13-15) for holding the spectacles (1) on the user's head.

Description

PAIR OF MODULAR EYEWEAR

The present invention relates to a pair of modular glasses, that is to say comprising, on the one hand, a pair of glasses proper, the frame of which is provided with at least one mounting member and, on the other hand , various accessories provided with mounting members complementary to that or those of the frame, these members being shaped to allow manual and rapid assembly / disassembly of the various accessories on the frame.

This pair of glasses is particularly suitable for outdoor sports, for example skiing, its modular nature allowing it to be quickly and easily adapted to the different climatic conditions encountered.

Existing glasses of this type are limited in their modulation possibilities. They therefore prove to be hardly adaptable to all the situations encountered and cannot be used as simple sunglasses.

In addition, the accessory mounting members which they include are not very practical in use.

The present invention aims to remedy all of these drawbacks.

The pair of glasses which it relates to is of the type comprising, on the one hand, a pair of glasses proper, the frame of which is provided with mounting members and, on the other hand, various accessories provided with mounting members complementary to those of the frame, these members being shaped to allow manual and rapid assembly / disassembly of the various accessories on the frame, this pair of glasses comprising, among the various accessories, an element made of flexible material, which is shaped on one side to match the shape of the face and on another side to match the shape of the frame, and which is provided with mounting members capable of cooperating with those which the frame or the accessories can be mounted on it.

According to the invention, the branches of the frame comprise two members for the removable mounting of accessories for holding glasses on the head of the user; the frame comprises, at the level of the bridge, a member for mounting a nose protection accessory; and the mounting members of the flexible material element are complementary to those of said accessories for holding glasses on the head of the user and of the mounting members, all of these members being shaped to allow rapid mounting of The element made of flexible material on the frame and its retention fixed to it, independently of the installation or removal of the nose protection accessory or the interchange of the accessories for holding the glasses on the head of the user.

All of these members are shaped to allow rapid mounting of the element of flexible material on the frame and its retention fixed to it, regardless of the installation or removal of the nose protection accessory or 1 'interchange of accessories for holding glasses on the user's head. The invention makes it possible to easily and quickly form a protective screen for the eyes, by mounting the element made of flexible material on the spectacle frame.

When the flexible material element is removed, the glasses can be used as simple sunglasses.

In addition, the assembly or disassembly of the element in flexible material can be operated without risk of detachment of the nose protection element, and vice versa, and the interchange of the holding elements of the pair of glasses on the head of the user can be produced without the element made of flexible material being able to come off the frame.

The flexible element is light and compact. It can advantageously be obtained by thermocompression of a piece of thermoformable material.

Advantageously, the locking or unlocking of the member for mounting the nose protection accessory and of the complementary member for mounting the element made of flexible material is carried out by pivoting on itself of the member carried by the frame, and this member is shaped so as to allow the member that the element made of flexible material to be released in a determined angular position and to release the member for mounting the nose protection member in another position angular.

The assembly or disassembly of the element of flexible material can be operated without risk of detachment of the nose protection element, and vice versa.

In any case, the invention will be better understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting example, a preferred embodiment of the pair of modular glasses which it concerned.

Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view, with its various accessories; Figure 2 is a perspective view, in a configuration which allows the invention; Figure 3 is an exploded perspective view on an enlarged scale of some of its mounting members; Figure 4 is a view of these same members, after assembly, in section along the line IV-IV of Figure 3; and FIGS. 5 to 7 are front views of this pair of glasses, showing another of its mounting members in three different operating positions. FIG. 1 represents a pair of modular glasses 1, the frame 2 of which comprises various specific mounting members, described below, and a set of accessories, fitted with mounting members allowing their rapid adaptation to the frame 2, namely :

- A support element 3 on the nose, comprising lateral wings 4 and a groove 5 allowing its insertion with wedging on the frame 2;

- two lateral flanges of insulation 6, comprising ventilation holes 7 and grooves 8 for their clipping on the pivoting arms 9 of the frame 2;

- An element 10 for protecting the nose, in particular against the sun, comprising two lateral wings 11 and an upper projection 12 capable of being retained by one of the mounting members of the frame 2;

- pairs of elements 13,14,15 allowing the maintenance of the pair of glasses 1 on the head of the user, certain elements 13,15 having a curved end allowing their support against the ears of the user and other elements, 14, comprising slots 16 for engaging an elastic band 17 intended to pass around the neck of the user; and

- an element 18 of thermocompressed foam, shaped, on one side, to match the shape of the user's face and, on another side, to match the shape of the frame 2.

For mounting the elements 10, 13, 14, 15, 18, the frame 2 comprises: - two parts 19 of annular shape, situated at the free ends of the pivoting branches 9; each of them comprises a radial recess 20 and a groove arranged in its internal peripheral wall, this recess

20 communicating with this gorge; and a pivoting button 21, having a generally trapezoidal shape with rounded angles for reasons which will be explained with reference to FIGS. 5 to 7, which comprises on its internal face a hollow cylindrical projection 22 provided, on the one hand, with an external peripheral rim (not visible in the figures) allowing it to be clipped with the possibility of rotation in a bore 23 arranged at the level of the bridge of the mount 2 and, on the other hand, of two internal flanges facing each other delimiting between them a diametrical rectangular opening and two internal shoulders (not visible in the figures but identical to the flanges 32, opening 33 and shoulders 34 which will be described below with reference to Figure 4).

As shown more particularly in Figures 1,3 and 4, for their installation on the frame 2: - the nose protection element 10 is positioned in front of the frame 2 so that its lateral wings 11 can be inserted behind it and bear against it, and so that its upper projection 12 can be covered by the button 21, in. the positions of the latter other than that shown in Figure 5;

- The elements 13 and 14 for holding the pair of glasses 1 on the head of the user each comprise a hollow cylindrical projection 30, capable of being engaged in the opening of said annular parts 19, provided on the one hand, with a radial projection 31 capable of being engaged in the recess 20 and of sliding in the aforementioned groove and, on the other hand, of two internal flanges 32 facing one another delimiting between them a diametrical opening 33 and two shoulders 34; and

- The foam element 18 comprises three studs 40 in the shape of a "T", integral with bases 41 provided with fingers 42 which pass through the foam element 18 and a counterplate 43 before being crimped onto the latter; two of the pins 40 are arranged laterally and intended to come opposite the openings of the annular parts 19 aforementioned, during the mounting of said foam element 18 on the frame 2, and the third pin 40 is arranged frontally and intended to come in front of the bore 23, the pins 40 being shaped so as to be able to be engaged in the diametrical openings 33 that comprise the elements 13, 14 and the pivoting button 21 until their end branch is located beyond the shoulders 34, as shown in FIG. 4. In practice, once the projections 30 of the elements

13,14 engaged in the openings of the annular parts 19, and the pins 40 engaged in the diametrical openings 33, the elements 13 or 14 and the button 21 are pivoted so as to engage the extreme branches of the pins 40 behind the shoulders 34 and, simultaneously, engaging the radial projections 31 in the grooves provided in said annular parts 19.

Thus, the assembly of the elements 13 or 14 and of the foam element 18 can be carried out easily and quickly with the same gesture, either to use the pair of glasses 1 as a simple pair of sunglasses, or to constitute an eye protection screen 45, as shown in FIG. 2.

As shown in the figures, the elements 13, 14, 15 and the button 21 advantageously include non-slip pins 50, for actuation with the fingertips, or two recesses 51 delimiting between them a tongue 52, for actuation with the nails or with any object, said tongue 52 preferably being oriented in the same direction as the aforementioned diametrical opening 33, so that the user can immediately visualize the position of this opening relative to the pins 40 and, consequently, , to know if the locking of these is carried out or not. FIGS. 5 to 7 show different positions of the button 21 and make it possible to explain its aforementioned specific shape, in a trapezoid with rounded angles.

The button 21 has an edge 21a perpendicular to the aforementioned diametrical opening 33, allowing it to discover, and therefore to release, the projection 12 of the nose protection element 10 when it is placed in the position shown in the figure. 5. The establishment or removal of the element 10 is therefore possible, when the button 21 is in this position, without risk of unlocking the element 18 in foam.

The button 21 also has two lateral edges 21b arranged obliquely to said diametrical opening 33, allowing it to partially cover the projection 12 of the nose protection element 10, to maintain this element 10, when it is in its position authorizing the establishment or removal of the foam element 18, as shown in Figure 7.

The button 21 finally has an edge 21c opposite the edge 21a, also perpendicular to the diametrical opening 33, allowing it both to retain the element 10 for protecting the nose and the element 18 in foam on the frame.

Thus, the button 21 is shaped so as to allow the pin 40 to be released, in its angular position shown in FIG. 7, to release the nose protection element 10, in its other angular position shown in FIG. 5, and maintain the foam element 18 and the nose protection element 10 in all of its other angular positions, and in particular that shown in FIG. 6.

It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above by way of example but, on the contrary, embraces all the variant embodiments. Thus, the elements 13 to 15 allowing the maintenance of the pair of glasses 1 on the head of the user can be simply clipable into the annular parts 19 and include, as shown for the elements referenced 15, a peripheral flange in place of the radial projection 31, similar to that which includes the button 21 .

In addition, the pair of glasses according to the invention can comprise, among its accessories:

- a simple panoramic optical screen, consisting of a semi-rigid sheet of transparent material and / or - a facial element forming a mask, capable of covering all or part of the face, each comprising fixing members complementary to those contained in the element 18 in flexible material, so that it can be fixed to it.

Claims

1 - Pair of modular glasses, comprising, on the one hand, a pair of glasses proper, the frame of which is provided with mounting members and, on the other hand, various accessories provided with mounting members complementary to those of the frame, these members being shaped to allow rapid manual mounting / dismounting of the various accessories on the frame, this pair of glasses comprising, among the various accessories, an element made of flexible material, which is shaped on one side to conform to the shape of the face and on another face to match the shape of the frame, and which is provided with mounting members (40) able to cooperate with those (19,21,22,30,32,33,34) that the frame (2) or the accessories (13,14,15) which can be mounted on it, pair of glasses characterized in that the arms (9) of the frame (2) comprise two members (19) for the removable mounting of accessories (13,14,15) for holding glasses (1) on the head of the utility launcher, in that the mount (2) comprises, at the level of the bridge, a member (21) for mounting an accessory (10) for protecting the nose, and in that the mounting members (40) of the element (18) of flexible material are complementary to those (30, 32, 34) of said accessories (13 to 15) for holding the glasses on the head of the user and of the organs (19, 21) of the frame, 1 * all of these members being shaped to allow rapid mounting of the element (18) of flexible material on the frame (2) and its retention fixed to it, independently of the fitting or removing of the accessory (10 ) for protecting the nose or for interchanging accessories (13 to 15) for holding glasses (1) on the head of the user.

2 - Pair of glasses according to claim 1, characterized in that the complementary members

(40,30,32,34) of the element (18) in flexible material and accessories (13 to 15) allow, after assembly, to trap said members (19) that comprise the branches (9) of the frame (2) between the element (18) of flexible material and the accessories (13 to 15) . 3 - Pair of glasses according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the locking or unlocking of the members (40,12) for mounting the element (18) in flexible material and the element (10) nose protection is made by pivoting on itself of the member (21) carried by the frame (2), and in that this member (21) is shaped so as to allow to release the member (40) that comprises the element (18) of flexible material in a determined angular position and to release the member (12) from the element (10) for protecting the nose in another angular position.

4 - Pair of glasses according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the accessories (13,14) for holding the pair of glasses (1) on the head of the user comprise a cylindrical projection (30) comprising a radial projection (31), and in that the frame (2) comprises two parts (19) of annular shape, situated at the free ends of the pivoting arms (9), each of these parts (19) comprising a radial recess and a groove arranged in its internal peripheral part, communicating with said recess (20).

5 - Pair of glasses according to claim 1, characterized in that the mounting members (40) of the element (18) of flexible material have the shape of a "T", and in that the mounting members of the frame (2) include hollow cylindrical projections (22,30) provided with two internal flanges (32) vis-à-vis delimiting between them a diametrical rectangular opening (33) and two shoulders (34) against which the end branches pins (40) are intended to bear. 6 - Pair of glasses according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the accessories (13 to 15) and the attachment member (21) of the glasses frame include anti-slip pins (50) and / or two recesses (51) delimiting between them a tongue (52).

7 - Pair of glasses according to claim 6, characterized in that said tongue is oriented in the same direction as the diametrical openings delimited by the flanges (32) above.

8 - Pair of glasses according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that it comprises, among its accessories:

- a simple panoramic optical screen, consisting of a semi-rigid sheet of transparent material and / or

- A facial element forming a mask, capable of covering all or part of the face, comprising each of the fixing members complementary to those that the element (18) is made of flexible material, so as to be able to be fixed to it.
