Description

PAIR OF MODULAR GLASSES
The present invention relates to a pair of adjustable glasses, that is to say comprising, on the one hand, a pair of glasses proper, whose frame is provided with at least one mounting member and on the other hand , various accessories provided with mounting members complementary to that or those of the frame, these members being shaped to allow manual mounting and rapid dismantling of the various accessories on the frame.

 This pair of glasses is particularly suitable for outdoor sports, such as skiing, its modular nature to adapt quickly and easily to the different climatic conditions encountered.

 Existing spectacles of this type are limited in their modulation possibilities. They are, therefore, hardly adaptable to all situations encountered and are unusable as simple sunglasses.

 In addition, the mounting members accessories they understand are not very practical for use.

 The present invention aims to remedy all of these disadvantages.

 To this end, the pair of glasses that it concerns, of the aforementioned type, comprises among the various accessories, an element of flexible material, shaped on one side to match the shape of the face and on another face to fit the shape of the mount, and provided with at least one mounting member adapted to cooperate with one or more other members that comprises either the mount or the accessories, so as to allow rapid mounting of the flexible material element on the mount.

 Thus, the invention makes it possible to quickly and easily constitute a protective eye shield by mounting the flexible material element on the frame of the glasses, which avoids having to carry such a screen with oneself.

The screen formed has sufficient rigidity conferred by the frame itself. The flexible element is light and compact. It can advantageously be obtained by thermocompression of a piece of thermoformable material.

 When the flexible material element is removed, the glasses can be used as simple sunglasses.

 Preferably, the legs of the frame comprise two members for the removable mounting of glasses holding accessories on the head of the user (curved ends of the branches, resting on the ears, or band surrounding the neck), and the corresponding mounting members of the flexible material element are complementary to those of said accessories, said members of the flexible material element and accessories allowing, after assembly, to imprison said organs that comprise the branches between the element made of material flexible and accessories.

 Thus, the mounting of these accessories on the branches simultaneously allows the assembly of the flexible material element on the frame.

 Preferably, the frame comprises, at the bridge, a member for mounting a nose protection accessory, and the flexible material member comprises a complementary mounting member, so as to ensure the solid attachment of the element made of flexible material at the mount at said deck and to prevent any risk of play between them. Advantageously, the locking or unlocking of these members is achieved by pivoting itself on the member carried by the frame, and this member is shaped so as to release the member that comprises the element of flexible material in a determined angular position and to release the mounting member of the nose protection element in another angular position.

 The assembly or disassembly of the element of flexible material can be operated without risk of stalling the protective element of the nose, and vice versa.

 Anyway, the invention will be better understood from the following description, with reference to the attached schematic drawing showing, by way of non-limiting example, a preferred embodiment of the adjustable pair of spectacles that it concerned.

Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view, with its various accessories
Figure 2 is a perspective view, in a configuration that allows the invention
Figure 3 is an exploded perspective view on an enlarged scale of some of its mounting members;
Figure 4 is a view of these same members, after mounting, in section along the line IV-IV of Figure 3; and
Figures 5 to 7 are front views of this pair of glasses, showing another of its mounting members in three different operating positions.

FIG. 1 represents a pair of adjustable spectacles 1, the frame 2 of which comprises various specific mounting members, described below, and a set of accessories, provided with mounting members allowing their rapid adaptation to the frame 2, namely
- A support element 3 on the nose, comprising lateral wings 4 and a groove 5 allowing insertion with jamming on the frame 2;
- Two side insulating flanges 6, including ventilation holes 7 and grooves 8 for clipping on the pivoting legs 9 of the frame 2;
- A nose protection element 10, especially against the sun, comprising two lateral wings 11 and an upper projection 12 adapted to be retained by one of the mounting members of the frame 2 ;;
pairs of elements 13, 14, 15 enabling the pair of spectacles 1 to be held on the user's head, certain elements 13, 15 having a curved end allowing them to be supported against the user's ears and other elements, 14, comprising lights 16 for engaging an elastic band 17 to pass around the nape of the user; and
an element 18 made of thermocompressed foam, shaped on one face to conform to the shape of the user's face and, on another face, to match the shape of the frame 2.

For mounting the elements 10,13,14,15,18, the frame 2 comprises
- Two parts 19 of annular shape, located at the free ends of the pivoting legs 9; each of them comprises a radial recess 20 and a groove formed in its inner peripheral wall, this recess 20 communicating with this groove; and
- A pivoting knob 21, having a generally trapezoidal shape with rounded corners for reasons which will be explained with reference to Figures 5 to 7, which comprises on its inner face a hollow cylindrical projection 22 provided, on the one hand, with a rim external device (not visible in the figures) allowing its clipping with possibility of rotation in a bore 23 arranged at the bridge of the frame 2 and, secondly, two inner edges vis-à-vis delimiting between them a diametrical rectangular opening and two internal shoulders (not visible in the figures but identical to the flanges 32, aperture 33 and shoulders 34 which will be described hereinafter with reference to Figure 4).

As shown more particularly in Figures 1,3 and 4, for their implementation on the mount 2
- The nose protection element 10 is positioned in front of the frame 2 so that its side wings 11 can be inserted behind it and bear against it, and that its upper projection 12 can be covered by the button 21, in the positions of the latter other than that shown in Figure 5 ;;
- The elements 13 and 14 for holding the pair of glasses 1 on the user's head each comprise a hollow cylindrical projection 30, adapted to be engaged in the opening of said annular portions 19, provided on the one hand, with a radial projection 31 adapted to be engaged in the recess 20 and to slide in the aforementioned groove and, secondly, two inner flanges 32 vis-à-vis delimiting between them a diametrical opening 33 and two shoulders 34; and
- The foam element 18 comprises three nipples 40 in the form of "T", secured to bases 41 provided with fingers 42 passing through the foam member 18 and a counter plate 43 before being crimped on the latter two nipples 40 are arranged laterally and intended to face the openings of the aforementioned annular parts 19, during the mounting of said foam member 18 on the mount 2, and the third stick 40 is disposed frontally and intended to come opposite the bore 23 , the nipples 40 being shaped to be engaged in the diametrical openings 33 that comprise the elements 13,14 and the pivoting knob 21 until their end branch is located beyond the shoulders 34, as this is shown in Figure 4.

 In practice, once the projections 30 of the elements 13,14 engaged in the openings of the annular parts 19, and the nipples 40 engaged in the diametrical openings 33, the elements 13 or 14 and the knob 21 are pivoted so as to engage the branches extremes of the nipples 40 behind the shoulders 34 and, simultaneously, to engage the radial projections 31 in the grooves formed in said annular portions 19.

 Thus, the assembly of the elements 13 or 14 and the foam element 18 can be made easily and quickly with the same gesture, either to use the pair of glasses 1 as a simple pair of sunglasses, or to constitute a screen 45 for protecting the eyes, as shown in FIG.

 As shown in the figures, the elements 13, 14, 15 and the button 21 advantageously comprise anti-slip pins 50 for actuation with the fingertips, or two recesses 51 delimiting between them a tongue 52, for actuation with the nails or with any object, said tongue 52 being preferably oriented in the same direction as the diametrical opening 33 above, so that the user can immediately view the position of this opening relative to the nipples 40 and, therefore, to know if the lock of these is realized or not.

 FIGS. 5 to 7 show different positions of the button 21 and make it possible to explain its specific form, in trapezoid with rounded corners.

 The button 21 has an edge 21a perpendicular to the diametrical opening 33 above, allowing it to discover, and therefore to release, the projection 12 of the nose protection element 10 when it is placed in the position shown in FIG. 5. The establishment or removal of the element 10 are possible, when the button 21 is in this position, without risk of unlocking the element 18 foam.

 The button 21 also has two lateral edges 21b arranged obliquely with respect to said diametrical opening 33, allowing it to partially cover the projection 12 of the nose protection element 10, to maintain this element 10, when in its position allowing the insertion or removal of the foam member 18, as shown in Figure 7.

 The button 21 finally has an edge 21c opposite the edge 21a, also perpendicular to the diametrical opening 33, allowing it both to retain the nose protection element 10 and the foam element 18 on the frame.

 Thus, the button 21 is shaped so as to release the stick 40, in its angular position shown in Figure 7, to release the protective element 10 of the nose, in its other angular position shown in Figure 5, and to maintain the foam element 18 and the nose protection element 10 in all of its other angular positions, and in particular that represented in FIG. 6.

 It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above by way of example but embraces, on the contrary, all the variants. Thus, the elements 13 to 15 allowing the pair of spectacles 1 to be held on the user's head can be simply clip-able into the annular-shaped portions 19 and comprise, as is shown for the elements referenced 15, a flange device instead of the radial projection 31, similar to that which comprises the button 21.

In addition, the pair of spectacles according to the invention may comprise, among its accessories
a simple panoramic optical screen consisting of a semi-rigid sheet of transparent material and / or
- A facial element forming a mask, adapted to cover all or part of the face, each comprising fasteners complementary to those that comprises the element 18 of flexible material, so as to be attached thereto.
