Abstract
Wedge (1) for mounting a tyre (23) onto a hollow base rim (10). The wedge (1) is made of an elastomer material of average hardness, its base (5) conforming to the shape of the flange (11), the seat (12) and the hump (13) of the rim (10) of a vehicle's wheel (22). The wedge (1) holds in place in the central groove (14) of the rim (10), the bead (26) of the tyre (23) during mounting. The wedge is for use with semi-automatic mounting machines.
