Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif qui sert à sceller un tuyau en plastique (22) pour le protéger en cas d'incendie et qui comprend à cet effet, de préférence, un manchon (12) contenant un ressort (34) et une matière intumescente (26). Le ressort (34) et la matière intumescente (26) sont disposés dans le manchon (12) de sorte que, après fermeture du tuyau en plastique (22) par le ressort (34), une partie (17) du tuyau (22) reste ouverte pour communiquer avec le feu ou la source de chaleur. La partie ouverte (17) permet à la chaleur d'atteindre plus rapidement la matière intumescente (26) afin de produire sa dilatation. Le ressort (34) est protégé de la source de chaleur jusqu'à la dilatation de la matière intumescente (26) par une enveloppe (30) en matière thermo-isolante, déformable et ignifuge.
