Definitions
- the present invention relates to a hoisting arrangement, especially for use on board a ship in connection with a cr opening, especially a side port opening, comprising at least hoist carriage which is moveable along a guide column in a h shaft which connects the freight opening or the side port op to different decks of the ship, where the hoist carriage car via a pair of support arms a loading platform pivotably moun relative to the hoist carriage for movement of the loading p form horizontally from a fore-and-aft position from a positi within the hoist shaft of the ship via the freight opening o side port opening to a fore-and-aft position in a position o side the side of the ship, the loading platform being moveabl a horizontal direction relative to the hoist carriage by mea a power means, such as a pressure medium cylinder, which is p ferably jointed to the hoist carriage.
- a power means such as a pressure medium cylinder, which is p ferably jointed to the hoist carriage
- the present invention is as mentioned especially designe for use on board ships, but will also be able to find applica for other purposes, for example in connection with freight openings on land vehicles or in connection with freight openi in structure on land, and the like.
- the freight hoisting arrangement as indicated above is usually employed together with fork lift trucks, that is to s with a set of fork lift trucks on board the ship and a set of fork lift trucks on land, for respective loading and unloadin the freight hoisting arrangement.
- the loading and unloading can occur via extra equipment which is connected to freight hoisting arrangement, such as various types of convey belts or similar transport means.
- the fork trucks place or fetch their respective unit of freight direct on the loading platform of the freight hoisting arrangement, position outside the side of the ship or in a position in the hoist shaft in the ship.
- fork lift trucks is meant not only trucks with loading forks, but also trucks other gripping or lifting means which are specifically adapte according to particular types of units of freight.
- a loading platform can be swung from a position within the ship to a position outside the side of the ship, so that a fork lift tr on the quay can place the freight directly on or fetch the freight directly from the loading platform.
- the known freight hoisting arrangement is arranged so that the hoist carriage b means of an outwardly projecting arm, which is revolvable abo first vertical axis on the hoist carriage, can swing the load platform around about a second vertical axis.
- the loa platform can be swung around along an arc of a circle about t said first axis.
- an arm system in the shape of a parallelogram can be formed between hoist carriage and the loading platform, so that the loading platform during the swinging around along said arc of a circl parallel displaced between a fore-and-aft position in a posit in the hoist shaft and a fore-and-aft position in a position side the side of the ship.
- the loading platform is sub jected at the same time as it is moved transversely also to a certain fore-an-aft movement relative to the ship. This neces fore-and-aft movement is undesired for several reasons.
- the aim is a solution with w a precisely rectilinear movement of the loading platform can ensured with relatively simple means in a horizontal directi between the position in the hoist shaft and the position out the side of the ship.
- the freight hoisting arrangement according to the inven is characterised in that a first support arm is pivotably mo at the one end about a first vertical axis on the hoist carr and at the other end is pivotably mounted about a second ver axis on one end of the second support arm, while the other e the second support arm is pivotably mounted about a third ve cal axis on the loading platform, and that a first positive means connects the other end of the first support arm to the loading platform, while a second positive guide means connect the first end of the second support arm to the hoist carriage for positively guiding the loading platform in a fore-and-aft position in a rectilinear transverse movement between the position within the hoist shaft and the position outside the of the ship.
- a freight hoisting arrangement which comprises a pair of hoist carriages which are sep rately movable along their respective guide column in the hoi shaft and are revolvable separately about their respective pa of support arms for swinging the respective loading platform about between a position in the hoist shaft and a position ou side the side of the ship
- the objective is to be able to han a freight jointly by the two loading platforms and in this co nection the freight hoisting arrangement is characterised in loading platforms of the hoist cariages are adapted to be cou together hydraulically and/or mechanically for movement joint vertically in the hoist shaft or horizontally between a posit in the hoist shaft and a position outside the side of the shi
- Fig. 1 shows in plan elevation two hoist carriages in fu lines in a position within the ship and in broken lines in a position outside the side of the ship.
- Fig. 2 shows in plan elevation the one hoist carriage on larger scale and with several details, illustrated in broken lines in a position within the ship and in full lines in a position outside the side of the ship.
- Fig. 3 shows in side elevation a section of the hoist carriage according to Fig. 1 and 2.
- Fig. 4 shows, a detail of Fig. 3 with certain parts remov for the sake of simplicity.
- Fig. 1 there is shown a section of a ship, where th illustrated just within the side 10 of the ship a hoist sha which at opposite ends carries a guide column 12 and 13 res tively for their respective hoist carriage 14 and 15.
- the h carriages 14, 15 are designed as mirror images and substant identical and are adapted to function individually in an eq lent manner.
- a turntable or a combined support and rotary bearing 17 with which the under member 16 is fastene the one end 19 of a first support arm 20, for revolving the support arm 20 about a first vertical axis 19a (see Fig. 2).
- second end 21 the support arm 20 is provided with a combined support and rotary bearing 22 with which the first support a is fastened at a first end 24 of a second support arm 25, so these are pivotable relative to each other about a common, s vertical axis 24a.
- a support and rotary bearing 27 with which there fastened a loading platform 29, for revolving the loading pl form 29 about a third vertical axis 28a relative to the supp arm 25.
- a power means in the form of a hydraulic cylinder 30 ha one end 31a fastened to the hoist carriage 14 (or 15) and th opposite end 31b fastened to the first support arm 20.
- the loading platform In th pushed out position of the power means the loading platform assumes a position within the ship, such as shown by the ful lines in Fig. 1, and in the retracted position of the power the loading platform 29 assumes a position outside the side the ship, such as shown by broken lines in Fig. 1.
- a first positive guide means 32 is arranged in the form of a piece of wire between the hoist carriage 14 and a guide and fastening means 33 on the said f end 24 of the second support arm 25. More specifically the w extends from a first fastening point .34 on the hoist carriag via a first guide means 35 on the hoist carriage 14, substan ally parallel to the first support arm 20 to the guide and fastening means 33 on the second support arm 25 and further stantially parallel to the support arm 20 and via a second gu means 36 on the hoist carriage 14 back to a second fastening point 37 on the hoist carriage 14.
- the guide means 35 and 36 arranged at a considerable radial distance from the first ver cal axis 19a and are arranged on their respective mutually opposite sides of the hoist carriage 14.
- the guide and fastening means 33 is arranged at a considerable ra distance from the second vertical axis 24a on the support arm
- a second positive guide means 38 is shown in the form of a piece of wire between the loading plat 29 and a guide means 23 and a fastening point 39 (Fig. 4) on second end 21 of the first support arm 20. More specifically wire extends from a first fastening point 40 on the loading p form 29 via a first guide means 41 on the loading platform 29 substantially parallel to the second support arm 25 to the gu means 23 and the fastening point 39 on the first support arm and further substantially parallel to the support arm 25 and a second guide means 42 on the loading platform 29 back to a second fastening point 43 on the loading platform.
- the positive guide means 32 and 38 By means o the positive guide means 32 and 38 one can ensure that with e angular movement of the first support arm 20 relative to the hoist carriage 14 one gets an equivalent angular movement of second support arm 25 relative to the support arm 20 together with an equivalent angular movement of the loading platform 2 relative to the support arm 25. In this way one can ensure th at the same time as the third vertical axis 28a of the loadin platform 29 moves horizontally at right angles to the longitu nal direction of the ship, the loading platform 29 is moved intended fore-and-aft position displaced precisely parallel between the said inner and the said outer position.
- a locking member 44 for mechan cally locking together the two loading platforms 29 of the h carriages 14 and 15, so that the loading platforms can be mo jointly, towards and away from the two positions which are i strated in Fig. 1 as well as towards and away from different vertical positions within the hoist shaft 11.
- two hoist carriages 14 and 15 and associated loading platfor can be moved jointly and in a correspondingly locked manner relative to each other, for corresponding linear movement an corresponding speed, by means of a common control of the hyd lic control circuits for the two hoist carriages.
- the support arms 20 and 25 in addition to the swi movement from and to a posiion in the hoist shaft to and fro position outside the side of the ship can also be swung in a opposite direction from and to the position in the hoist sha and from a position further inwards in the ship.
- the freight on the loading platform can also be transported to a certain extent horizontally into the ship, where this is nec sary.
- t positive guide means can ensure by altering the geometry of t positive guide means under certain circumstances that the pl form is moved in a deviating direction from said fore-and-af position, for example 90° relative to the longitudinal direc of the ship, that is to say from the fore-and-aft direction the transverse direction.
- this can be especially significance on transportation internally in the ship.
