Definitions
- the object for the invention is a method for treatment of water.
- the object for the invention is a de ⁇ vice for application of the method.
- the iron and the manganese are common noxious factors in the water, because when they come in contact with the air they get easily oxygenized.
- the in such a way created feculence makes the houseware dirty and maculates the laundry.
- the iron and the manganese can be removed by aeration or by simple mechanical filtration, but sometimes again more efficient purification methods are needed, such as chemical or biological proceedings.
- Problems in the use of water are often also caused by nitric compounds (NO-) and in the water existing gases, such like as for instance methane, hydrogen and C0 ⁇ -gases.
- the aim of the invention is to bring about a method for treatment of water, by which method the disadvantages con ⁇ nected with the present methods are eliminated.
- the purpose fo the invention is to bring forth a method, by taking advantage of which the obnoxious gases are not let into the pipage, the function of the purifica ⁇ tion process is improved, and no actual device or water treatment space is needed.
- the aim of the in ⁇ vention is to bring forward a device for application of the method, which device is uncomplicated to its structure and the maintenance interval of which is long.
- an aeration device posi- tioned inside a filter in the water space pressurized air is led into the water space, and by means of the pressuriz ⁇ ed air and water the filter is scavenged in the counter- current direction and simultaneously the water in the water space and the filter are oxygenized.
- the device is plac- ed in the well or in an intermediate depot of water no se ⁇ parate space for the device and the water treatment process is needed, but the purification process takes place in the well or in the intermediate depot of water and in the de ⁇ vice itself.
- the scavenging in the counter-current direc- tion with compressed air together with the water prevents efficiently the filter from obstructions and simultaneously the water aeration is taking place in an efficient way in the whole process space.
- the aeration promotes the discharge of the obnoxious gases, because the obnoxious gases can freely burst in the water and they do not enter into the pipage,. Consequently the water going in for the use is well aerated and e.g. the corrodent properties of the water have diminished and for instance the nitric compounds (NO-) are changed into less obnoxious (NO-) compounds.
- NO- nitric compounds
- the function of the purification process improves when the amount of fecu ⁇ lence increases into the well or into the intermediate depot so that the maintenance interval can be long, and even as much as 2-3 years.
- the air is led inside the filter finely divided.
- the air is efficiently cleaning the filter and oxygenizing the water.
- the filter is favourably placed in the beginning of the water intake system in the immedi- ate neighbourhood of the dump valve or the suction inlet.
- the filter filtrates the water going into the pipage and aerates the water in the other water space.
- figure 1 presents one application of the device for apply ⁇ ing of the method in accordance with the invention seen from the side and in cross-section
- figure 2 presents the device in accordance with figure 1 seen from above

- aeration device 5 Inside the hull of the filter has been placed the biological and/or chemical part 2 of the filter and between this and the inner part, where the aeration device is, has been placed the mechanical part 3 of the filter.
- the framework placed around the dump valve has also been placed a mechanical part of the filter.
- the aeration device 5 is reaching outside the water space and it is connected with the apparatus, by means of which the compressed air is blown into the water space.
- the part of the aeration device located inside the filter is equipped with media, e.g holes, for feeding of the air finely divid ⁇ ed into the inside of the filter.

- the dump valve is spring loaded.
- the filtration material of the biological and/or chemi ⁇ cal filter is generally used expanded clay, limestone crush, -stone or ore crush and/or activated carbon or dif ⁇ ferent materials in layers or mixed.
- mechanical fil ⁇ ter part 3 materials suitable for the purpose like fil ⁇ tration fabrics or corresponding are used.
- the device is placed in the water space, which in this application is a well.
- the well 9 In the figure are pre ⁇ sented the well 9, its water space 7 and the suction tube 8 for pumping of the water from the well.
- the water from the well is pumped through the filter parts of the device in accordance with the figures 1 and 2.
- the filter placed around the dump valve is cleaned by the pulses of the dump valve and by on the outside of it circulating water-/air- ixture during the aeration and inside it can in some ap ⁇ plications also in case of need be directed a jet of com- pressed air.

- the feculence form ⁇ ing out of the filter into the process space promotes the biological purification function and to begin with the bio- logical process can be activated quickly by means of for instance iron and manganese bacteria plantations.
- the aer ⁇ ation of the water space is periodical in accordance with the need and it can be for example _ - 1 hour a couple of times within 24 hours.
- the periodic operation can easily be controlled e.g. by means of an electric control clock.
