Abstract

Procédé pour la fabrication de fibres de carbone anisotropes à partir de poix de goudron de houille, dans lequel ladite poix est filtrée avant le filage et le filtrat de poix est distillé dans un vaporisateur à couche mince ou concentré afin d'obtenir une fraction de poix génératrice de mésophases. Le concentré de poix obtenu est transformé en une poix à mésophases au cours d'un traitement thermique, de sorte que l'étape difficile et onéreuse du procédé s'effectue très rapidement et simplement au cours de la fabrication des fibres, et notamment du traitement thermique ultérieur des fibres de poix filées. La poix extrêmement visqueuse est filée de manière économique dans un métier à filer centrifuge, des séparateurs pulvérulents étant introduits avant le filage ou épandus avant l'oxydation. Le traitememt thermique ultérieur est réalisé dans une installation de traitement travaillant cycliquement, et c'est là que se déroulent les processus d'oxydation, d'obtention du vide, de carbonisation, d'obtention du vide, de graphitisation et de refroidissement.
