Abstract

Un procédé d'usinage de matériaux se caractérise par le fait que le mouvement principal (V) et le mouvement d'avance (S) sont transmis à la pièce à usiner (1) et/ou au couteau (2) pourvu d'un élément tranchant (3) présentant un bord de coupe circulaire (4), et que des mouvements angulaires de rotation sont transmis à l'élément tranchant (4) autour d'un axe (5) perpendiculaire au plan de l'emplacement du bord tranchant (4), ce qui permet le remplacement d'une partie usée du bord tranchant (4) par une partie non usée. Les mouvements angulaires de rotation sont effectués dans une seule et même direction dans les limites allant jusqu'à la moitié de l'angle psi de contact du bord tranchant (4) avec la pièce à usiner (1), la durée du passage de l'angle de contact psi par un certain point sur le bord tranchant (4) étant suffisante pour permettre une usure uniforme du bord tranchant.
