Definitions
- the invention relates to a model carrier for articulators for emulating the position and the movement sequence of the rows of teeth of the upper and lower jaw for the manufacture of dental prostheses
- the plate-shaped model carrier having a recess, preferably in the central region has a fastening screw for receiving the base plate or the counter plate of the articulator and screwing it from below or from above through the base plate or the counter plate, and positioning means are arranged on the top and / or bottom of the model carrier which clearly reproducible Ensure the position of the model carrier on the one hand with respect to the base plate or the counter plate of the articulator and on the other hand of the model with respect to the model carrier.
- articulators A wide variety of articulators are known. For example, such are described in AT-PS 371 333, in CH-PS 249 969 and in DE-OS 30 05 524. Common to these articulators is that they are used in conjunction with model plates and so-called Spli cast metal supports be used.
- the model plates have a threaded hole in the middle, are usually designed as circular disks and have several continuous recesses which expand towards the bottom.
- Another embodiment of these model plates instead of the continuous recesses widening downwards carries upwardly projecting threaded pins.
- Both the mentioned recesses and the multiply arranged threaded pins on the top serve to firmly and securely anchor the connection aces with which the tooth replacement part is attached to the model plate, because this connection must be made during the entire machining ⁇ the time of the dental prosthesis must be maintained Once the dental prosthetic item has been completed, the binding compound separated and this is usually thrown away together with the model plate anchored to it.
- Splitcast metal carriers are those model carriers on which the tooth replacement part is repeatedly detachably fastened. This releasable fastening has the advantage that it can be solved by the model carrier in the case of complex and complex work on the tooth replacement part.
- These splitcast metal supports have a ferromagnetic plate on their surface, as well as groove-like or groove-like depressions.
- a small, disc-like, permanent magnet, which is received by a sleeve, is attached to the denture part via the connecting compound and applies the necessary holding force when the denture part is placed on the splitcast metal carrier.
- the groove-like and groove-like depressions serve for clearly repeatable positioning between the model carrier and the tooth replacement part.
- This splitcast metal carrier can be used repeatedly and repeatedly because the separation between the dental prosthetic item and the spli cast metal carrier is simple, as already explained above. As a rule, with this type of connection, only the metallic sleeve, which holds the disk-like magnet, is thrown away together with the connecting compound.
- the invention now aims to design the model carrier so that it can be used repeatedly, regardless of whether it is used in the sense of a splitcast metal carrier or in the sense of a model plate, as explained in more detail above.
- the invention proposes that the recess in the model carrier for receiving the fastening screw be designed as a push-through hole which completely penetrates the model carrier and whose diameter is equal to or is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the fastening screw and a threaded sleeve can be screwed onto the fastening screw, which at its outer end has either a flat flange or an upwardly diverging conical or pyramid-shaped attachment and, when the threaded sleeve is screwed on, the Flange or the approach rests positively on the top of the model carrier.
- Figure 1 shows a model carrier in plan view.
- Fig. 2 seen in section and Fig. -3 from below; 4 in the manner of an exploded drawing, the successive components; 5 and 6 cross sections of the operationally used 15 components according to FIGS. 1 to 4th
- the model carrier for example made of aluminum, according to FIGS. 1 to 3, consists of a rectangular plate with rounded corners 2, from which groove-like depressions 3 run toward its central axis, which have a V-shaped cross section.
- a through hole 4 is provided in the center. Coaxial with this through hole 4 is a flat depression
- This recess 6 starts from the top 5 of the model carrier 1. On the bottom
- two blind bores 7 and ⁇ are provided which, with respect to the central through bore 4, show different distances.
- the underside of the model carrier 1 shown in FIG. 3 is that of the respective base plate or counterplate 9 facing the articulator when the part is used as intended.
- the fastening screw 11 with which the model carrier 1 and the base plate or the counter plate 9 of the articulator are connected to one another, is shown as the bottom component in the exploded view according to FIG. 4.
- This fastening screw 11 has a knurled head 12 and a threaded shaft 13 which is no longer than the sum of the thickness of the model carrier 1 and the base or counter plate 9 of the articulator.
- the outer diameter d of the threaded shaft 13 is somewhat smaller than the diameter D of the through bore 4 of the model carrier 1.
- a threaded sleeve 15 or 15 ' serves as the connecting nut for this fastening screw 11.
- One threaded sleeve 15 has a flat flange 16 at its end, the diameter of which is somewhat smaller than the diameter of the recess 6 on the upper side 5 of the model carrier 1.
- the thickness s of the flange 16 corresponds to the height h of the recess 6.
- the threaded sleeve 15 'to be used here carries on its end side an upwardly diverging cone-like or pyramid-like extension 17, the height H of which is at least twice as high as the height h of the recess 6.
- the fastening screw 11 passes through both the base plate or counterplate 9 of the articulator and the through hole 4 of the model carrier 1. In the base plate or counterplate 9 of the articulator, however, this fastening screw 11 can also be held securely against loss. However, this is not illustrated in the two FIGS. 5 and 6.
- Such lossless mounts for Screws are known per se.
- the threaded sleeve 15 ' can be screwed on from above, which, when tightened with its conical shoulder, rests against the edge of the through bore 4 of the model carrier 1 and thus braces the model carrier against the base plate or counterplate 9 of the articulator.
- the connection mass which carries the tooth replacement part, not shown, is illustrated here by 14.
- this mass engages behind the conical shoulder 17 in a form-fitting manner, as a result of which the secure hold of the tooth replacement part on the model carrier 1 is guaranteed.
- the connecting mass 14 is knocked off the model carrier 1.
- the threaded sleeve 15 ' usually remains in the connecting mass 14 and is thrown away with it.
- this threaded sleeve 15 'with its conical shoulder 17 is a modest part of the components described here and is considerably cheaper than the model carrier 1, so that the loss of this threaded sleeve 15' with its conical shoulder 17 does not particularly matter Weight drops.
- FIG. 6 shows in cross-section the operational use of the parts described above in the sense of a splitcast metal carrier.
- a metallic, cylindrical, downwardly open sleeve 18 of low height is embedded in the connecting mass 14, in which there is a disk-shaped permanent magnet 19.
- the positioning of the tooth replacement part with repeated removal from the model carrier 1 is ensured by the groove-like depressions 3 described above.
- the connecting compound 14 is also thrown away from the model carrier 1 after it has been removed, usually together with the sleeve embedded in it. 18 after the disc-shaped magnet 19 has been removed.
- the sleeve 18 is a relatively inexpensive component, the loss of which can still be accepted.
- the threaded sleeve 15 or 15 ' is designed as a nut for the screw 11.
- the flange 16 or the upwardly diverging conical extension 17 with a threaded bolt and to arrange a threaded sleeve on the knurled head 12 as a counterpart.
- Such an embodiment is also intended to be covered by this property right.
- the threaded sleeve 15 * with the conical extension 17 is a component that must be replaced again and again, since it is thrown away with the knocked-off connecting compound 14.
