Abstract

La presente invención esta dirigida a un sistema de curado con catalizador y a un método para usarlo a fin de reducir las emisiones o "emanaciones" de formaldehído en resinas de resorcinol-formaldehído ó fenol-resorcinol-formaldehído. Otro objetivo es proporcionar métodos para curar o fraguar sistemas de resinas de resorcinol y fenol-resorcinol en los que se evita la gelificación y el fraguado demasiados rápidos, y también el costo elevado. La presente invención reemplaza una porción de oxazolidina, normalmente usada para el enlace cruzado de una resina de fenol-resorcinol, con una clase de compuestos normalmente denominados metilolureas, que son productos de reacción de sustancias químicas de formaldehído y urea. El método preferido de usar un adhesivo de materia que comprende dimetilolurea en combinación con una resina resorcinólica (resorcinol formaldehído o fenol- resorcinol formaldehído), además de comprender la oxazolidina. Puede incluir además rellenos modificadores de flujo, Los rellenos típicos empleados en los endurecedores incluyen arcillas, harinas de cáscaras de nuez, y aserrines tamizados por malla fina.
