DESIGN FOR FABRIC.
Specification forming part of Design No. 9,465, dated August 272, 1876; application filed July 4, 1876. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that We, ROBERT SCOTT and AARON JnwnLL, both of Lawrence, in the county of Essex Iand State ot' lilassachusetts, have invented a new Design for Fancy Worsted or Woolcn Fabrics; and we do hereby declare that the following specilcaton, taken in connection with the drawing, making a part of the salue, is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
The design which is the subject of this patent consists in the combination of squares, shaded as hereinafter described.
The whole surface of the fabric is divided -into squares, which are shaded as follows:
weaving are in alternation both lengthwise and crosswise of the fabric, with stripes camposed of the said diagonally-woven squares A in alternation with other squares O, having irregular' or tlocked surfaces.
The fabric may he woven in any preferred variety or combination of colors for giving effect to the design above described, the characteristic feature of which is, a surface divided into squares of diagonal and basketwea ving patterns, and squares havinga flocked surface, all being in alternation, as specitied and shown.
The design for fancy worsted or woolen fabrics, substantially as herein described, and represented in the drawing.
