UNITED STATES PATENT DFFICE.
Fl-CEDERIUK \VINK, OF lHlLADELPIIIA, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO THOMAS DOLAN, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR SHAWL-PATTERN.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,076. dated August 20, 1572.
Specification describing a Design for a Shawl-Pattern, invented by FREDERICK WINK, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dcsignfor a Shawl-Pattern.
The figurein the accompanying drawing represents suflicient of a shawl-pattern to illustrate my design, the main features of which are the stripes A, 13, and (J. The stripe A is precisely alike on both sides of its center line a, and it has not been deemed necessary, thercfore, to illustrate more than one-halt of the same. The stripe A is composed of a series of parallel minor stripes or ribs of varying widths and of diiferent shades or colors, the outermost ribs being plain, while the central ribs a and b are elaborately ornamented, as shown. The stripe B is composed of a series of splines, 0, either connected or disconnected at the center of the stripe, and terminating at the edge of the latter in sharp points, the said splines, in other words, forming a deep zigzag edging on both sides of the stripe, and the latter may be perfectly plain and of one color, or it may be ornamented by shading", as shown in the drawing. The stripe C has a castellated edging and interior ornamentation, of a character too clearly shown to need descrip' tion.
Irrespective ofthe colors employed, I claim- 1. The design for the stripe A, substantially as shown and described.
2. The design for the stripe ll, composed of splines, as shown and described.
3. The design for the stripe U.
4. The design for the whole pattern, including the stripes A, I), and G.
In testimony whereof I have signed 1H) name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
