UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE JAMES E. JAGGER, 0F HOLYOKE, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR T0 HOLYOKE PLUSH COMPANY, OF HOLYOKE, MASSACHUSETTS, A CORPORATION OF MAINE.
DESIGN FOR WOVEN FABRIC.
Specification for Design.
Patented Jan. 5, 1915.
Application filed September 15, 1914. Serial No. 861,898. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMEs E. JAGGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Holyoke, county of Hampden, State of Massachusetts, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Woven Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part hereof.
The figure is a plan view of a section of woven fabric showing my new design.
The design comprises a series of stripes 1, 1, 1, etc., extending in the same general direction across the fabric. are of irregular width'as shown and each stripe at irregular intervals is formed into a reverse curve. Each reverse curve is as to its general curvature complemental to the ones adjacent it. Referring, for exam le, to the stripe 1 at the right edge of the gure, three of these reverse curves are shown, one
These stripes 7 extending from 2 to 3, another from 3 to 4, and another from 4 to 5, and it will be noted, for example, that the reverse curve 3 to 4 is complemental in general curvature both to the reverse curve 2 to 3 and to the reverse curve 4 to 5. The irregular arrangement causes these reverse curves to be out of alinement in a direction transverse to the general direction of the stripes, and thus to produce the efl'ect shown.
The stripes are shown as embossed or depresed in a pile fabric so as to be beneath the general surface of the body of the fabric.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a woven fabric Having the stripes as shown.
JAMES E. JAGGER.
