the Gothic italic, and their forms vary from those of other types in that they are italic, and have but one broad or upright line, with no shading line and, further, in that the right-hand broad (or upright) line in the letters A and H; also, the diagonal line in the letter It; also, the left-hand broadline in the letters M N Bfl,diphtl1ong; also, the broadline in the letters F, J, P, and Y, and the straight line of the sign &;

also, the attachment which makes the letter O a Q; also, the ceriph of the letter G also, in the numerals 3 4 5 7 9 also, the comma and the semicolon also, in the small capitals, the broad line of the letter T, are continued down beyond the base line of the other letters and characters.

Further, the signs for a quotation mark, for an exclamationanark, and for an interrogation mark, and in the numerals the numbers 6 and 8; also, the sign and for dollars and pounds are continued above the line of the other letters and characters; and
