DESIGN FCR ESCUTCHEONS FOR DOORS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I,-W1LL1AM GORMAN, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of' Connecticut, have originated and designed a new Design for Flush Escuteheon for Sliding Doors; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the neeompanying drawings making e part of this specification.
The outer edge of the eseutoheon and the edge of the finger-recess are surrounded by a raised bend, a. whereby the effect of e sunken panel is given to that portion of the escuteheon which is designated es A.
The space between such raised band-lines is Afilled in with scroll-work, b b b, in relief, upon :i plain or matted ground.
The bese-plate B of the esenteheon is also ornamented with leaf-work india-ting from the key-hole opening, as shown.

The design for a flush eseuteheon for sliding doors, of the character substantially as herein shown and described.
