To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM GORMAN, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford, and State of Connecticut, have originated and designed a new Design for Door-Escntcheon; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the drawing accompanying and making a part of this specification.
The accompanying drawing exhibits a design for a door-escntcheon, after the Assyrian style ot' ornamentation. The edge is surrounded by a raised band or moulding, a, and a similar band, o, surrounds the recess for the knob-escutcheon. The angle formed at the junction of that portion of' the escutcheon which belongs to the knob and that portion which belongs to Witnesses M. J. WOODRUFF, H. E. RUSSELL, 2d.
