SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,1 56, dated December 9,1902.

Be it known that I, SAMUEL GEORGE W'ILKES, a subject of the King of England, and a resident of Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Teapot or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification.
My ornamental design is hereinafter described, and illustrated in accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a teapot embodying said design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the body of the teapot on line 2 2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a cross-section on line 3 3 of Fig. 1. Figs. 4 and 5 are cross-sections of the spout on lines at at and 5 5, respectively. Figs. 6 and '7 are cross-sections of the handle on lines 6 6 and 7 7, respectively.
The body A of the teapot is oval and polygonal in cross-section, as shown in Fig. 2, and tapered from the top to the point a where it enlarges into the base or foot B, as shown in Fig. 1. As shown plainly in Fig. 2, the central side panels are widest, the adjacent ones on the right and left being gradually diminished in width.
The top 0 of the teapot is contracted and paneled and provided with a polygonal flange a the arrangement and graduation of the panels in width corresponding to those of the body A.
The lid or cover is conical as to its general form and provided with panels 0, that enlarge from the top downward.
As shown, the spout D and handle E are paneled, and hence polygonal, save on the upper side, which is rounded.
Ornaments F in relief are applied at the enlarged bases of the spout D and handle E and on the upper side of the latter.
What I claim is The ornamental design for a teapot or similar article, as herein shown and described.
