THEODOR KUNDTZ, OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO. l
DESIGN FOR A TOP FOR SEWING-MACHINE CABINETS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,733, dated February 11, 1902.
Application filed December 16, 1901.
T all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, THEoDoR KUNDTZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lakewood, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Top of a Sewingspecification, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings,for1ninga part thereof.
Figure I is a view in perspective of a cabinet-top, showing my design. Fig. II is a top plan of the same. Fig. III is a front side elevation.
In iny design for the top of a sewing-machine cabinet each side edge of the table-forming portion ay of the top curves inwardly, as at 5, at and along the central portion of the said edge. The rear edge 6 of the table a is straight except at the junction of the said edge with the side edges. Each side edge of the table a curves outwardly, as at 7, at the rear end of its central inwardly-curved portion toward the rear edge 6 and curves outwardly at the forward end of the said portion 5, as at 8, toward the front edge of the table. The table a has a centrally-located rectangular raised portion 10, arranged longitudinally of the top and having a centrally-located rectangular opening 12. Each end of the forward edge of the table a is curved outwardly, as at 13, so as to form a continuation of the curve 8 of the adjacent side edge of the table. The said forward edge curves outwardly along its central portion, as at 14, forwardly of the raised portion 10 of the table, and the said central outwardly-curved portion 14 of the Serial No. 86,045- Term of patent 7 yearssaid edge extends the greater portion of the length of the said portion of the table. A
forwardly-pointing angular projection 15 is formed upon the front edge of the table between each end of the curved central portion 14 of the said edge and the adjacent curved end portion 13 of the said edge.
The cabinet-top adjacent to the front edge of the table d has a depending front b, arranged longitudinally of the said edge. The front l) has an upper forwardly-arched portion 16, arranged next below and extending longitudinally of the table a and is provided at each end of the said forwardly-arched portion 16 with a depending portion 17.
The leading and essential features of my design hereinbefore described comprise the unitary design shown in the illustration and comprising the inward curves 5 of the side edges of the table, the outward curves 7 connecting the inward curves 5 with therear edge 6, the outward curve or swell 14 at and along the central portion of the forward edge of the table, and the outward curves 8 and 13 between the said central forward curve 14 and aforesaid inward curves 5.
What I claim is- The design for the top of a sewing-machine cabinet substantially as herein shown and described.
Signed by me at Cleveland, Ohio, this 16th day of November, 1901.
THEODOR KUNDTZ.
