Description

DESIGN.
No. 34,590. Patented May 28, l90l E. ELMIGER. CASING FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. (Application filed Apr. 1, 1901.)
I fiznmar UNrrnn STATES ATENT Grates,
EMIL ELMIGER, OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR TO FARRAND &; VOTEY ORGAN COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A CASING FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,590, dated May 28, 1901.
Application filed April 1, 1901. Serial No. 53 ,972: Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL ELMIGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit,
in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan,
have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Casing for Musical Instruments, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the casing, and Fig. 2 is an end elevation thereof.
The casing, as shown, is upright and rectangular in configuration and has the appearance of being formed of two similar oblong sections differing in height and separated one from the other by a horizontally-extend ing beading, as illustrated.
The reference-letter A designates the lower or base section of the casing, rectangular, as shown, and provided upon its front and ends with ornamental vertically-extending panels B.
C designates an opening formed centrally in the section-front to receive the usual pedals, and D represents ornamental brackets upon the sides of the opening, connected at their tops by an ornamental transverse bar E.'
F designates the upper section, equal in length and breadth to the lower, but of less height than the latter. As shown, the upper 0 section terminates in a Hat top G, the edge of which is cut away or grooved, out as at H, giving a rounded appearance to the upper portion of the casing.
I designates ornamental panels upon the front and ends of the upper section, which extend in a direction at right angles to the lower panels.
The leading feature of the design resides in the upright and rectangular casing com- 40 posed of two similar sections, the upper section having a rounded upper edge and being of considerably less height than the lower and separated from the latter by a horizontally-extending beading.
What I claim as my invention is- The design for a casing for musical instruments, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature 50 in presence of two witnesses.
EMIL ELMIGER.
