DESIGN FOR A CASE OR CABINET FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,384, dated April 16, 1901.
A li atio fil d March 8, 1901. Serial No. 50,400. Term of patent 14 years.
T0 at whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THEODORE PARKER BROWN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Worcester, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Case or Cabinet for Musical Instruments; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a case or cabinet for musical instruments, such as are commonly known as piano-players.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein the figure represents in perspective a case or cabinet for a piano-player embodying the essential features of the design.
The base or supporting structure for the case proper consists of two end pieces 1 1, connected together by connecting-pieces 2 2, and rising from each end piece, as shown, are two legs or columns 3 3, terminating at their upper ends in ornamental caps 4 4. Surmounting the four legs or columns 3 3 is the case proper, 5, which is substantially rectangular in shape, and rising from the case proper is a housing formed by the end boards 6 6, top board 7, and front wall or board 8. The two end boards 6 are each provided with cut-out portions 9 at their rear immediately above the case proper.
Located above the case proper and forming a forward extension of the front wall or board 8 is a hood-like extension formed by the end walls 14, curved or convexed front sections 15, and intermediate convex Wall 16.
The leading or characteristic feature of the design is a case or cabinet for musical instruments having an open base or supporting structure provided with legs or columns surmounted by a case proper substantially rectangular in shape and having a housing rising therefrom, as shown.
What I claim is- The design for a case or cabinet for musical instruments, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
THEODORE PARKER BROWN.
