WIIJLIAM E. OOPENIIAVER, OFISPRINGFIEILID, onto, AssIcNoR TO THE FOOS MANUFACTURING COMPANY, or SAME PLACE.
dEsieN ion A GRINDING-surfs.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,545, dated may 21,19oi; lppfidation filed April 17; 1901- SGI'IRI Nd. 56 326- Teri of patent? years,
. To all whom it mag concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM E. COPENHA- VER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Springfield, in the county of Clark and State 5 of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Grinding-Plates, vof which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, wherein Figure l is a plan view of a grinding-plate embodying my design; and Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the same, taken on the linezmc of Fig. 1. 1
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in a grinding-plate having a flat body 1, bounded on opposite sides by concentric circular margins 2 and 3 and straight lateral edges 4 and 5, drawn radially from the common center of zo the other two edges. Upon the upper surface of this body are four concentric circular ribs 6, 7, 8, and 9 of equal height, but separated by increasing distances from the outer toward the inner edge of the plate.
There are thus formed three concentric annular grooves orspaces 10, 1] and 12. Each of these spaces is crossed by ribs 13, arranged in V shape at opposite inclinations to each other and having a height equal to the height of the annular ribs between which they extend. In the V-shaped spaces thus formed are located projections 14:, extending outward from the defining-ribs and having a height equal to said ribs, their sides being parallel with the ribs 13.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a grinding-plate, substantially as herein shown and described. 40
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM E. OOPENHAVER.
Witnesses:
IRVINE MILLER, WILLIAM OLAUGHLIN.
