DESIGN FOR A BUTTON.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JoHN DEWEY PHILLIPS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Milford, in the county of Oakland and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and orginal Design for Buttons, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a button, showing my new design; and Figs. 2 and 3 are respectively end and side elevations of the button, taken in the direction of the arrows 2 and 3 in Fig. 1.
The button A has in its outer face a depression at A arranged near the center. From this depression a slit A extends to the end of the button, the inner end of the slit being shown as terminating at the center of the depression and the latter being curved, as represented. The outer face ofthe button is shown as ornamented with the representation of a star at B, the points of same radiating from the depression, the star and the body of the button being in contrasting colors.
The sides of the button at G are undercut and formed on straight lines, as shown,while the ends D of the button are inclined to the plane thereof and are parallel to each other.
