DESIGN FOR A SOCKET-PIECE FOR BALL-AND-SOCKET FASTENERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,854, dated January 8, 1901.
Application filed November 6, 1899. Serial No. 736,049. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it Inay concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM B. H. DOWSE, of Newton, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Design for a Socket-Piece for a Ball-and-Socket Fastener,of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification.
My invention consists in a design for a socket-piece for a ball-and-socket fastener, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a plan of my socket-piece. Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the same, taken on line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of a number of leaflets A A, forming a part of the socket-piece and surrounding an embossed annular body part B, said embossed portion being formed of a series of annular rounded or curved faces leading from said leaflets and arranged concentrically and having the appearance of joined circular bands, the outer one being of greater width than the remaining ones, as shown.

The design for a socket-piece for a ball-andsocket fastener as herein shown and described.
