SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,684, dated May 24, 1898.

Be it known that I, FRANK II. LA PIERRE, a citizen of the United States, residing at East Orange, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Hand-Glass; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, elear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the aeeompanying drawings, and to letters of reerence marked thereon, which form a part of this speeilieation.
Figure l is a plan of a hand-glass of my new design; and Fig. 2 is a sectional View of the same, taken at line As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my newly-designed handglass consists in the polka-dot7 ornamentation displayed on the plain ground at the back of the hand-glass body.
In said drawings, u indicates the handglass body, which is round or diseons in plan, with a handle at one side, which is outlined by eoneavous lines b Z1 and convex lines c C, the latter meeting at the extremity of the han die d. The back faees of the body and handle are centrally plain and at the edges are oonrexly rounded, as at e, and the plain een tral surfaces of the body and handle are ornamented by polka-dots j', disposed at wide intervals apart.
At about the Center of the wider part of the handle is displayed a polka-dot y of larger dimensions than the dotsj".
