Description

Patented Jan. 29, I901.
DESIGN.
A. E. CLARK.
BOTTLE.
(Application filed Dec. 14, 1900.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALBERT E. CLARK, OF CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO THE JOSEPH CAMPBELL PRESERVE COMPANY, OF NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,986, dated January 29, 1901 Application filed December 14, 1900. Serial No. 39,933- Te rm of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT E. CLARK, of the city and county of Camden, in the State of New Jersey, have invented anew and original Design fol-Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
My new design for bottles is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is an elevation, and Fig. 2 a crosssection on line 2 2 of same, showing the general configuration thereof.
The design for bottles here shown consists in the body A of the bottle being of a uniform taper from near the bottom to the top or neck, whereby its side lines have substantially straight characteristics. The side Walls C close to the bottom are curved inwardly, so that the base B is of less sectional area than the body portion at its widest part. The
neck portion E at the top is substantially cylindrical, and a beaded portion D encircles the base of the neck and is interposed between it and the body. The body portion is fluted, the flutes F being of uniform taper and extending from top to the bottom of the 25' body portion, substantially covering its surface, except at one place, G, where the body portion is provided with a smooth cylindrical panel. In cross-section the body is round or circular. 3
The essential feature of my design is in the uniform taper of the body portion from close to the bottom to the immediate top and presenting an outline in which the sides are bounded by long inclined straight lines ap- 35 proaching at the top close to a short neck.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a bottle herein shown and 40 described.
In testimonyof which invention I have hereunto set my hand.
ALBERT E. CLARK.
