Description
"U ITED STATES ROGERS GEORGE, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
IMPROVEMENT IN POCKET-FLASKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 129,024, dated July 16, 1872.
Specification describing a new and Improved Pocket-Flask, invented by ROGERS GEORGE, of the city of New York, in the county and State of New York. Fig. 1 is a detail longitudinal section of my improved flask taken through the line .70 00, Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a detail cross-section of the same taken through the line 3 y, Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
My invention has for its object to furnish an improved pocket-flask, simple in construction and convenient in use, which shall be so constructed that the cup may be secured to the flask by the same cork or stopper that closes the flask; and it consists in the combination of the cup with the flask, in the manner hereinafter more fully described.
A is the bodyof the flask, which is made of glass. The neck a of the flask A is made short and without a lip, as shown in Fig. 1,, and may be made slightly tapering, if desired. B is the cup, which may be made of metal, wood, or other suitable material. The cup B is made to fit upon the upper part of the flask-body A, and is made with a neck, I), which is made longer than the flask-neck a, and should be a little tapering, as shown in Fig. 1, so that the cork or stopper 0 that closes the flask A may also fit into the neck 1;, and thus secure the cup B in place upon the flask A.
With this construction, by removing the cork or stopper 0 the cup B may be removed, and, by replacing the cork or stopper 0 in the neck I), may be used for drinking purposes.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The cup B formed to fit upon the upper part of a flask, A, and provided with a neck, I), made longer than the neck a of the flask, so that the cup may be secured upon the flaskby its cork or stopper, substantially as herein shown and described, and for the purpose set forth.
ROGERS GEORGE.
