(Application filed Apr. 30, 1900.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAMES CHANDLER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO CHARLES NELSON, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A GAS-FLAME SPREADER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,789, dated June 5, 1900;
Application filed April 30, 1900. fierial No. 15,014. Term of patent 3% years.
To (4% whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES CHANDLER, a subject of the Queen of Great Britaimand a resident of New York city, county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Gas-Flame Spreader, of which the following is a specification.
My design for a gas-flame spreader is represented in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a side elevation of the spreader. Fig. 2 is an elevation as seen looking in the direct-ion indicated by the arrow at Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a top view.
The side view presents a parallelogram of greater lateral than vertical breadth, having the convex middle surface a merging in the outward or frontward turned cylindrical rolls 1) and c of the respective extremities of the parallelogram. From the roll 0 rises an upright member 6, terminating in a righirangular extension f, reaching forward over the part a and terminating at or about a vertical central line of said part a, and the lower end of roll chas a pendent boss g; The elevation in Fig. 2 presents another parallelogram h of about equal lateral and vertical dimensions, with the lateral borders merging in rolls a, respectively. From each roll 0 rises an upright member 6, terminating in an an gular extension 1', oppositely directed, respectively, and between these oppositely-directed extensions is seen a memberj.
In the plan view, Fig. 3, the upper edges of two parallelograms a and their terminal end rolls 1) and 0, also the upper edge of the parallelogram h, also the lateral extension 1', are seen, and this View also shows the memberj joined to laterally-curved extremities of extensions i.
What I claim is- The design for a gas-flame spreader as herein shown and described. v
Signed by me at New York, N. Y., this 28th day of April, 1900.
JAMES CHAN DLER.
