TO ALL WHOM IT MAY OONCERN:
Be it known that I, ISRAEL FOSTER, of tbe city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented or produced a new and original Design for a Carpet-Pattern; and Ido hereby declare that the accompanying drawing, and the following explanation thereof', form a full, clear, and exact description of the said design.
The figure in the drawing represents sucient of a carpet to illustrate the design.
A represents part of the body of the carpet, and B tbe border.
The body is ornamented with a number of spots, of a form and arrangement clearly shown in the drawing.
Near the outer edge of' the border are the three waved stripes, a, and a short distance from the latter is a single waved stripe, b, and next is an ornament composed of a row of spots, UZ, on a dark ground. After an interval, from y to z, of plain fabric, the above-described ornaments are repeated before the border meets the body of tbe fabric.
Irrespective of the colors employed, I claim- The design for carpet-pattern, substantially as described, and represented in and by the accompanying drawing.
