DESIGN FOR A SPOON OR FORK HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,428, dated August 22, 1899.
Application filed July 26,1899. Serial No. 725,201. Term of patent 3l years.

Be it known that I, SAMUEL J. LARGE, a citizen of the United States, residing in Bristol, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Spoon or Fork llandle, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l is a face or plan view of a spoon or fork handle, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a View of the reverse side of the same.
'lhe design being for the handle alone, the spoon-bowl is indicated in broken lines.
The opposite side edges of the handle at. its smaller end are concave, as at 25, 4, and 5, with poi nist) and T at the junction of said coneavities and convex portions S on the broader partof the handle, with a central three-lobed or trel'oil ligure flat the upperend. There is a. border-head l0 following,r the greater porv tion of the edge on the front side, with an inner bead 11 substantially parallel thereto, and with scroll leaets12 between the points 6 and 7 and at the upper end of the handle, together with a central leaflet 17 opposite the trefoil 9, the said leaflets being mainly between the border-beads. The reverse side of the handle is also provided `with the outer and inner border- beads 13 and 14, with leaflets 15 inside of the inner bead between the points 6 and 7, while a semirosette 1G is opposite the trefoil fl, all as shown.
