UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIc DESIGN FOR A BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,236, dated July 18, 1899.
Application filed April 27,1899. Serial No. 714,756. T nn of patent Sl years.
Be it known that I, ALBERT DA'IZ, acitizen of the United States, residing at Jersey City, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Box, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which- Figure] is a top view of a box incorporating my design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of same. Fig. 3 is a central vertical longitudinal section of same on the dotted line 3 3 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4 is a central vertical transverse section of same on the dotted line it i of Fig. 1.
The leading feature of my design consists of the new and original shape and configuration of the box, substantially as shown in the drawings.
The box is in the form of an oblong.
A denotes the body of the box, and I; the cover therefor. The body A has the corrugated bottom (2 and vertical sides and ends, which merge into one another at the corners of the box, which are rounded, as indicated at l).
The rounding form of the corners of the box is shown by the shaded lines in Figs. 2, 3, and l. and bydotted lines in Fig. l. The cover H has a plain top surface, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and at its corners is rounded, as at E, to harmonize with the rounded corners of the body A. The cover 11 has oppo site side portions F, which are plain and less in length than the length of the top of the cover I and at their lower edges turn under the body A, as indicated at G. One end of the cover I has along the edges of that portion thereof which projects beyond the vertical sides F the downwardly-ex tending flange II, which conforms in outline to the upper edge of the end of the body A.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a box,substantially as shown and described.
