UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FERDINAND SOIIWEDTMANN, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
DESIGN FOR A CONVERTER-BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,689, dated May 2, 1899.
Application filed October 9, 1897. Serial No. 654,727. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FERDINAND SCHWEDT MANN, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of St. Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Converter-Box, of which the following is such a full, clear, and exact description as will enable any one skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
In the accompanying drawings, where my new and original design is shown and where like marks of reference refer to the same parts, Fign re 1 is a front elevation. Fig. 2 is an end elevation, and Fig. 3 is a top plan view.
The leading features of my design are described below.
5 is the main part of the body of the box and is substantially rectangular in cross-section,with considerably-rounded corners. The
part 5 tapers slightly from bottom to top in the direction of its width, as shown in Fig. 1. At the corner of the top of the part 5 are four rounded portions 6, which are flush with the front and rear faces of the said part 5, but project beyond the ends of the same. Midway between the rounded parts 6 at each end is a lug 7. The cover 8 conforms in shape to the top of the body, having rounded parts 9 corresponding to the parts 6 on the body, but projects slightly beyond it. The cover 8 is also provided with lugs 10, through which eyebolts 11 pass into the lugs 7 to hold the cover in position. In the center of the cover Sis a raised panel 12, which is connected with the main part of the cover by inclined sides or faces 13, which extend to near the edge of the cover, leaving a narrow flat border 14.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-
The design for a converter-box substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seat in the presence of the two subscribing witnesses.
