GODFREY JBREMEI'OF KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A CHECK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 80,872, dated May 30, 1899.
Application filed January 5, 1899. Serial Ho. 701,295. Term of patent l years. I
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GODFREY J. BREMER, a citizen of the United States, residin g at Kalamazoo, in the county of Kalamazoo, State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Check, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The check may be put to many uses; but an especial use for which it is intended is to serve as a. mercantile check or chip, as such things are sometimes called, to be given to customers to represent value of goods, dac., as the case may be.
One object in designing the check in this manner, aside from novelty, is to make it artistically attractive and not easily counterfeited without devoting too much expense to make it of advantage to do so.
In the drawings referred to, Figure 1 is a side elevation; Fig. 2, an edge view looking from a point at either the right or left of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a section on line c c in Fig. 1.
The check is made from a solid piece of material, quite thin, so as to have a very narrow appearance, and it has two fiat smooth un broken sides or face-surfaces. It is circular in shape, observed to have every point in its periphery equidistant from its center. In its periphery is formed a deep narrow channel 4 4, the sides of which are perpendicularly straight to the base of said channel. The base of the channel horizontally, across it st all points, is straight and at a strict right angle to the perpendicular sides, and said base is circular with the same degree of accuracy as the circular perphery.
Having thus described my inventiou, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-
The design for a check, substantially as herein shown and described.
GODFREY J. BREMER.
