UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GRACE W. HUBBELL, OF BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,357, dated March 271, 1899.
Application led February 1, 1899. Bofill B0- 704,179. Term of patent Si you.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I. GRACE W. HUBBELL, a. citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Badges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure lis a plan view of a badge, showing my design; and Fig. 2 is a. side view of the same.
As shown in Fig. 1, the design is circular in outline. Its central part A, which is substantially fiat, is surrounded by a. beveled edge portion B, so that when the badge is viewed from one side, aia-represented in Fig. 2, the angle where the bounding-line of the portion B meets the central part A is obtuse, while the angle formed where it meets the outer edge b of the badge is acute.
In the center of the portion A of the design is a representation of a bu lalo, usually formed by stamping the same up in low relief from the material of which the badge is formed. Around the figure or representation of the buffalo and between it and the beveled edge portion B of the badge is left suicient blank space for such words and numbers as it may be desired to place upon the face of the badge.
Itis apparent that this design is applicable to lockets, medals, and other similar articles.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a badge as herein shown and described.
GRACE XV. HUBBELL.
