UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDlVIN RINGOLD, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO NEUIIAUS, TROUNSTINE d7 CO., OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,118, dated August 2, 1898.
Application filed July 11, 1898. Serial No. 685,710. Term of patent 3% years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWIN RINGOLD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Badge, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing is a plan View showing my new design for a badge or other similar article.
As shown in the drawing, the leading or material features of my design are a scroll center with flags on the right and left thereof,
palms extending upward from the base of the the Grand Army of the Republic. The star is emblematic of the Grand Army of the Republic. The fiags suggest the original thirteen States and the palms are symbolic of rejoicing. The center of the scroll is left plain, so that any special occasion on which the badge is to be used may be impressed. The center of the star within the ring is also left plain, so that any local device, such as the seal of a city, may be impressed.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a badge or other similar article as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
EDWIN RINGOLD.
