DESIGN FOR A COVER FOR BICYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,732, dat d May 9, 1899- Application filed Match 28, 1899. Serial No. 710,831- Tlrm of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT W. MCGUIRE, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Covers for Bicycles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which- Figure 1 is a side view of a cover for a bicycle, showing my new design; Fig. 2, a plan view, and Fig. 3 a section of the cover on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the oblong form of the casin g or cover 5, which is open at the bottom, as shown at 6, and the top and bottom walls of which are parallel and the ends or end walls also parallel for about one-half of the vertical width of. the casing or cover and then curved inwardly and upwardly until they meet the top wall, as shown at 7 ,the inwardly and upwardly curved portions of the end walls meeting the top wall at 8. At the rear end of the top portion the sides of the casing or cover are enlarged laterally to form a pocket havinga top triangular portion 11 and the downwardly and backwardly directed triangular portion 12, and at the front end of the top wall and at the point where the upwardly-curved portion of the front end wall meets said top wall isa slot or opening 13 for the handle-bar of the vehicle.
My newly-designed bicycle-cover may be made of canvas or any suitable material.
Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a cover for bicycles herein shown and described.
