SIMON HAMBURGER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A PAPER BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,428, dated March 28, 1899. Application lllul runny as. me. Bea-id 80. 707.222. Term of am '7 m.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SIMON HAMBURGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the borough of Manhattan and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Paper Boxes, of which the following is a specification, referencebeinghadtothe accompanyingdrawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a paper box, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a transverse section of the same.
As shown in the drawings,- the leading feature of my design for paper or pasteboard boxes is the shape of the opposite ends of the same, being irregular hexagons, comprising a lower rectangular part and an upper part in the form of a truncated gable and surrounded by a marginal rib projecting beyond the side walls of the box.
A A are the opposite ends of the box, the same being of the same shape-that is, irre,,-
ular hexagons-having a rectangular lower part a. and an upper part a of the shape of a truncated gable. The lower side walls B B, the upper side walls B B, and the bottom 0 and top 0' are all of rectangular shape. Extending around each of the hexagonal ends A A is a marginal rib b, which projects beyond the side walls, top, and bottom, so as to impart a more ornamental finish.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a paper box, as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
S. IIAMBURGER.
