DESIGN FOR A ROLL FOR ROLLING METALS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,633, dated November 8, 1898.
Application filed January 5, 1898. Serial No. 665,700. Term of patent 7 years.
To (all whom if may Palmer/L:
Be it known that I, MASON GALLOWAY "ORTH, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Roll for Rolling Metals, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a roll, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on the line x as of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the leading feature of my design consists in a series of diamond-shaped figures disposed or distributed over the surface of the roll, as shown in Fig.
1, in which it will be seen that the end of each diamond-shaped figure of one row terminates on a horizontal line with the ends of the figures of the next succeeding row and that the said figures of one row lie vertically between the figures of the rows above and below.
The figures are perfectly formed below the general surface of the roll.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a roll for rolling metals, as herein shown and described.
