DESIGN FOR A NAIL-FILE.

Be it known that I, JEREMIAH V. 13. PARKES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Nail-Files; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
In said drawings, Figure 1 shows my newlydesigned manicure or nail file in side view. Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal section of the same on line at, Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a crosssection on line as, Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the loading or material feature of my design consists in a sword-shaped manieu re or nail file, as shown.
In the drawings, a indicates the blade of the nail-file, having a sword-blade shape in outline and having file-teeth upon its sides a. One edge of the blade is grooved, as at Z), and has transverse file-teeth on the concaved surface. At the extremity of the blade the edges converge, as at c c, to form a point e, and between said converging edges the sides of the file are devoid of file-teeth, one side 0 being flat, while at the otherside the edges are rounded off, as at 0 to present a convexed surface. The opposite end of the file is ornamented by a guard (Z, somewhat back from the extremity, and beyond said guard is a sword-handle o.
\Vhat I claim as new is The design for a manicure or nail file as herein shown and described.
