Be tknown that I, JAMES H. MANN, of Lewistown, in the county of Miiiin, and State of Pennsylvania, have originated a. new* Design for an Axe-Label, of which the following is a full, clear, and Aexact description, reference .'being had to the'accompanying drawing, making part of this specification.

This invention is adesgn for a. vlabel to be pasted upon axes at the manufactory where they are made.

It consists of a rectangulareld of red, having at its centre a, scroll or plate, on which is represented an Indian warior standing in a field, with an axe lyinr on the ground near him. Around the scroll or plate are thewords, The Red-Warrior Axe, Manufactured near Lewistown, Pennsylvania, by William Mann.

What claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design for an axe-label, substantially as described and shown.

To the above-specification of my invention I have signed my hand, this twenty-second day of January, 1868.
